Our Philosophy

To our partners in maritime education and training

With close to two decades of experience in maritime medicine, Halcyon Health Network has become increasingly aware of the need to address the mental wellness of seafarers as well as their physical health. The pandemic brought this to the forefront of our priorities as we saw the impact of illness and isolation on a global scale.

Recognizing the gravity of this situation, we have embarked on a bold initiative called BrainHealth. Originally developed to support the mental well-being of active seafarers, this program represents a paradigm shift in how mental health is approached at sea.

Now, we are also integrating BrainHealth into maritime schools, equipping cadets and students with the tools, knowledge, and resilience they need from the very start of their careers. The program offers a comprehensive framework including structured course material, psychosocial group encounters, mood tracking, and activities that promote mental health awareness and wellness.

By providing accessible resources and fostering a culture of openness surrounding mental health, we aim to create an environment where seafarers and cadets feel empowered to prioritize their emotional and mental welfare without fear of stigma or judgment.

BrainHealth is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the well-being of seafarers worldwide. We envision a future where mental health support is not just a reactive measure but an integral part of the seafaring experience, ensuring that every individual can thrive both on land and at sea.
